“I chose SRJC sports medicine because of my athletic experience. I used to be a cross-country skier for 10 years from 3rd grade through my senior year of high school. However, after suffering from many injuries, I asked myself, “Why do sports have to be accompanied by injuries?" I chose SRJC's Sports Medicine program because I wanted to help the next generation of athletes to have fewer injuries and enjoy sports more. I also wanted to learn more about the profession of a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), which is a profession that specializes in sports. If you like sports or are interested in being a athletic trainer or in sports-specific medicine, I encourage you to check out Santa Rosa Junior College!”

“I’m glad that I chose SRJC as an international student coming from China. I enjoyed being at Shone Farm, where I experienced the four seasons of growing, cultivating, harvesting, and crafting wine.

I was fortunate enough to be selected as a student resident at Shone Farm. Living at the farm enabled me to witness the subtle changes that happen daily and deepened my commitment to sustainable farming practices.

I was also able to combine my academic coursework with exposure to a legendary winemaker at Kenwood vineyards, Mark Stupich. I participated in the vintages of 2018 and 2019, which received high awards at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and Sonoma County Harvest Fair.

All of these experiences at Shone Farm led me to post studies work opportunities at Stags Leap, Revana, and Girard wineries in Napa. It was a great opportunity for me!”
